Jeramie: With his power to reanimate the dead, one of the Five Galactinsect Jesters, Grodie Leucodium, attempts to sow discord among the kings.
However, the Ohsama Sentai manages to see through the deception and launch a counterattack.
This enraged the Galactinsect King, Dagded Dujardin, who then sent all six of them to... somewhere.
Or so the story goes.

Infuriated at being outwitted, Dagded decides to send the team flying to another planet. But not just any planet: it's the planet Earth that's home to the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, stated by Dagded to be "the worst planet" to be in. As the monarchs try to figure their way around this Earth, they soon discover that the planet was invaded by Dagded years ago, and the resident team has been struggling due to losing their powers.

Can our misplaced Royals help them with a mysterious warrior from the future?

Tropes

  • Affectionate Nickname: Yanma dubs Prince "slack-jawed king" before he transforms as a way to encourage him.
  • Aliens Speaking English: The monarchs were easily able to talk to the Kyoryugers through Tikyū's Japanese-sounding Common Tongue despite hailing from a different Earth.
  • Bad Present: The King-Ohgers arrive on Earth with it having been taken over by the new Deboth Army under Dagded's command two years prior to the present.
  • Bait-and-Switch: It was assumed King Kyoryu Red was the return of Daigo as the team's representative. The rest of the team sans Daigo appear in the episode, with Naïve Newcomer Prince serving as their Red instead. Daigo and Utchy (who only appear in-suit during a Flash Back) went into space early on to pursue the Galactinsects.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase:
    • When the others meet Ian, Jeramie proceeds to use Ian's old "Oh my" catchphrase.
    • After transforming, Prince uses Daigo's catchphrase before attacking Debo Senking.
  • Brought Down to Badass:
    • With the rest of the team cut off from the Shugods, Gira is the only one of the Ohsama Sentai able to transform. Fortunately, this doesn't slow them down and they quickly prove themselves to be skilled outside of suit.
    • Two years prior, Dagded attacked the Kyoryuger's world and stole their braves, causing the Zyudenryus to be captured and the Kyoryugers equally unable to transform. Yanma fixing Prince's Gaburicalibur and Gira imparting God Kuwagata into Prince's Zyudenchi are what allowed Prince to transform into King Kyoryu Red.
  • The Bus Came Back: Four of the six original Kyoryugers (Ian, Nobuharu, Souji, and Amy) all return along with a new Kyoryu Red going by the name of Prince. Daigo and Utchy also appear in-suit.
  • Canon Welding: The Reveal of the episode places the events of King-Ohger directly within The 'Verse of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
  • Commonality Connection: After the Ohsama Sentai is caught up about Kyoryuger history, they note that the way the two sentai teams operate are similar, especially with the usage of guardian spirits in the form of Shugods and Zyudenryus respectively. This leads to Gira proving that they can power up a Zyudenchi with a Shugod in place of a Zyudenryu.
  • De-power: Twofold.
    • Yanma and Kaguragi quickly discover they're unable to transform, which they ascribe to being away from the Shugods. Gira is the exception, which proves instrumental later in the creation of King Kyoryu Red.
    • The Kyoryugers themselves have lost their ability to transform due to both the siphoning of Brave from the world and the kidnapping of their Zyudenryu partners.
  • Earth All Along: Inverted. The King-Ohgers assume they're in an unfamiliar part of of Tikyu and act as such. Jeramie and Ian find out that the monarchs are actually from another planet; their ancestors being refugees from Earth.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Prince's first appearance consists of taking a monster head on with zero abandon. Souji promptly chastises him for recklessly using the Gaburicalibur.
  • Foreshadowing: Gira is somehow the only one among the King-Ohgers who still retained his powers on Earth. When empowering Prince's Zyudenchi, the spirit of God Kuwagata also came from Gira himself.
  • Happy Ending Override: Kyoryuger ended on a fairly happy note with the Deboth Army destroyed and everyone being able to live out more normal lives. Unfortunately, the Galactinsects' invasion of their Earth completely upends it as they revive the Deboth Army to new heights, stealing everyone's Brave and taking away the Kyoryugers' powers in one fell swoop.
  • Homeworld Evacuation: One of the episode's big reveals. The humans of Jeramie's time were refugees from Earth that settled on Tikyu.
  • Humanity Came from Space: Inverted. The people of Tikyu are actually descended from the people of Earth.
  • Mentor Occupational Hazard: Prince refers to Souji as his master, making it clear where he got his sword skills from. Souji is last seen getting caught by some falling rubble as the two teams evacuate the citizens. Subverted by the next episode preview revealing he was just heavily injured as a result.
  • Near-Villain Victory: The New Deboth Army, with Dagded's help, has taken over Earth and is leeching Brave from the populace. However, the de-powered Kyoryugers still oppose them and are leading an active Resistance. The King-Ohgers' arrival turns the tide and results in Debo Senking's destruction; setting up a showdown with the army's commander.
  • Out of Focus: While Amy appears in the episode, her appearance is limited to a single scene where she has just found the imprisoned Zyudenryu and doesn't interact with either her team or the King-Ohgers.
  • Party Scattering: The monarchs get split up from each other when they arrive on Earth, with Gira and Yanma meeting Souji and Prince, Kaguragi meeting Nobuharu and Gentle, and Hymeno, Rita and Jeramie meeting Ian. All of them then converge on the Resistance Hideout.
  • Reestablishing Character Moment:
    • Souji helps Gira and Yanma fight against a group of Zorimas armed with but a wooden sword.
    • Nobuharu holds off Debo Senking to allow Kaguragi and Gentle to escape all while cracking one of his punny jokes.
    • Ian tells off Hymeno, Rita and Jeramie for trespassing on an archaeological site, then promptly flirts with Hymeno right after he notices her.
  • La Résistance: The Kyoryugers lead one against the new Deboth regime.
  • The Reveal:
    • Dagded calling Earth the "worst planet" isn't a mere dig at it; it turns out that he installed the new Deboth Army to take over the world, and from the looks of it they succeeded. Given that Dagded's invasion of Earth occurred around the same time as the first half of the series, it also explains where the Galactinsects save for Kamejim and Grodie were - they were busy helping the new Deboth Army take over Earth.
    • Jeramie deduces out from the cave painting Ian was uncovering that Tikyū's human population descended from Earth's human population.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: Gira decides to be this to Prince, reviving his demon king persona in order to draw out Prince's hidden potential.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's revealed that Daigo and Utchy went alone to try and fight Dagded, but the others haven't heard from them since.
  • Villain World: Earth is in the process of becoming one when the King-Ohgers end up there, with the New Deboth Army having already conquered Japan to harvest Brave from its people.
  • Wham Line:
Jeramie: My father and his people were humans...who migrated from this planet!
  • Wham Shot:
    • Gira and Yanma spotting a gigantic palace that serves as the new Deboth headquarters.
    • When Prince gains the resolve to make his dream a reality, God Kuwagata's spirit appears, to charge the golden Zyudenchi, from Gira's stomach.
    • Ian uncovering a mural revealing the logo of the Caucasus Kabuto Castle.
