Narrator: Without warning, Gira and Yanma were kidnapped by the queen of Ishabana, Himeno Ran.
While the two of them were initially dumbfounded by the extent of Himeno's selfishness, Gira — upon witnessing the love for her people that lay beneath it — invited her to join his crew.
And it was at that moment, that they came under attack from God Kabuto!
...Or so the story goes.

After God Kabuto's sudden assault on Ishabana, Gira, Yanma, Himeno, and Sebastian are whisked away to Toufu, the kingdom of agriculture. They are given a grand welcome by the ruler of the land, Kaguragi Dybowski, who showers them with a wealth of food and hospitality.

Despite his gentle appearance, Kaguragi is actually the one who piloted God Kabuto into Ishabana, seemingly using it for Racules' plans to capture Gira. When the Bognaarok appear demanding that he hand over God Kabuto, he decides to negotiate with them, but Gira notices that something isn't quite lining up...

Tropes

  • Armor-Piercing Response: Gira responds to Kaguragi's justification about allying with Racules as a mean to protect his country by warning him that Racules will use him as a puppet that cannot protect anything, silencing the latter as a result.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • Gira notices that a turnip a Toufu citizen gives him is dirty and worm-ridden... then bites into it anyway, realizing that it does mean that the land is very bountiful.
    • When Kaguragi is negotiating with the Bognaarok regarding handing over his great treasure, he has one of his Kuroko hand Dethnaarok a tomato instead of God Kabuto's Soul. After all, to Kaguragi, Toufu's food is the greatest treasure his land can offer.
    • At the end, it appears Kaguragi will follow Yanma and Himeno in allying with Gira. It turns out all he's doing is buying time for Rita to apprehend Gira.
  • Broken Pedestal: While Racules scolds Kaguragi for his delay in apprehending Gira, he locks eyes with Kogane and Boone, who proclaimed Gira's innocence during the broadcast to N'Kosopa two episodes back; they look at their king with anger and disgust.
  • Call-Back:
    • Gira repeats the same phrase he used against Racules in the first episode to call out Kaguragi for working with the king.
    • Kaguragi repeats the same words he used when showing off Toufu when he makes his I Am What I Am speech.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Gira being handed in to Rita for arrest, thanks to Kaguragi's duplicity.
  • Dramatic Irony: The audience sees early-on that Kaguragi was the one piloting God Kabuto. However, Yanma (and by extension, the others) immediately assume that Racules is piloting God Kabuto due to the three Greater Shugods residing in Shugoddam, as well as the king being an Evil Overlord.
  • Food as Bribe: Kaguragi uses a hot pot feast as leverage to get the others to help him with his plan. They're so into the food, he has to remind them why they're there.
  • Food Porn: Kaguragi's feast is presented as this. The other King-Ohgers very quickly lose themselves to the flavors of the food, making some interesting faces in the process.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: There are actually four Greater Shugods inscribed on the legend's illustrations, the fourth being what appears to be a silver spider that is implied to be different from God Kumo.
  • Good Costume Switch: In its hostile state, God Kabuto's eyes are a dark violet. Gira manages to get through to it with his kindness, turning both its eyes and Soul green like the other Shugods'.
  • I Am What I Am: At the end of the episode, Kaguragi spells out his true personality to Gira as he prepares the later to be arrested.
Kaguragi: (turns towards Gira) I beg for your forgiveness. My people are my life. For their sake, I will cover myself in mud and dirty my hands. (grips Gira's hand tighter, making the latter flinch) That is who I am... the lordly king, Kaguragi Dybowski!
  • Impossibly Delicious Food: Kaguragi bribes Gira and co. with an elaborate feast to get him on their side against the Bognaarok. The food is so good they end up fighting over it and ignoring him.
  • I Surrender, Suckers: Kaguragi tricks Dethnaarok into thinking he'll give up the land's greatest treasure, God Kabuto's Soul. He gives him a tomato instead (which to him, is the land's treasure) and distracts the enemy so the other rulers can enter their Shugods.
  • The Reveal: The episode goes back to around two years before the series began to explain why the three Greater Shugods split off from Legend King-Ohger, as well as give more depth into Racules' motives for them.
  • Spotting the Thread: Gira notices that God Kabuto protected some of the nearby crops, which is something that Racules would never do. This clues him in that Kaguragi was the actual pilot of God Kabuto.
  • Taking the Bullet: God Kabuto tanks a blast that was aimed towards some crops. This is enough for Gira to notice that Kaguragi is the one controlling God Kabuto.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Yanma throws his OhgerCalibur at a Sanagim in battle while defending Toufu.
