Surf's up on a wacky beach adventure when our heroes are challenged to the ultimate beach battle.
Tropes:
- Battle of the Bands: It seems like the beach battle is going to end with each side playing instruments in some sort of competition, but they have to fight a giant sentient wave instead.
- Beach Episode: Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
- Big Ball of Violence: The Boxmore Bots fight like this after losing the first round of the Beach Battle.
- Continuity Nod:
- We can see Shannon's human feet.
- K.O. is seen hanging out with Potato at one point during the beach day, a nod to how the two of them have been good friends since "Plazalympics".
- Chekhov's Gag: The water K.O. pours around his sandcastle is alive and reacts to him, which seems like a random joke. When a giant living wave shows up, it turns out the water was the baby it was looking for.
- Deliberate VHS Quality: Raymond's flashback to when he last tangled with Wavezilla is faded and full of scan lines and other signs of decayed tape. (The aspect ratio remains normal in compliance with Cartoon Network policy disallowing pillarboxing.)
- Enemy Mine: The bodega gang has to team up with the Boxmore robots to confront the giant wave.
- Heel–Face Door-Slam: K.O. manages to befriend the Boxmore bots thanks to their Enemy Mine, only for the saltwater to rust them from the inside, spoiling K.O.'s hopes for hanging out with them later.
- Shout-Out:
- Carol in a one-piece red lifeguard bathing suit runs down the beach in slow-motion.Mr. Gar: No kicking sand in this bay! Not on our watch!
- Enid at one point has a starfish stuck to her nose like Mermaid Man.
- Word of God says that there's a reference to Surfer Teen Confronts Fear written in the episode, but it's currently unknown what that reference is.
