The ninja try to battle Morro in Lloyd's body, only for the Destiny's Bounty to crash. In the aftermath, Wu reveals the origins of his wayward pupil, the team try to find the way to the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, and Nya learns a dramatic secret.
Tropes:
- Butt-Monkey: Kai spends much of the episode getting dumped on. First he's licked by an animal, which then steals his breakfast, and the other ninja mock his efforts to try and re-establish himself as a leader, preferring Zane for the role.
- Call-Back: Nya mentions how Master Chen mentioned her and Kai's parents. They tried to investigate, but found nothing.
- The Chosen One: Deconstructed. Morro's wearing green isn't a coincidence. He was Wu's pupil long before he met any of the others, but when Wu told him about the Green Ninja, Morro became convinced he was the one... and didn't take learning he wasn't well, becoming even more arrogant in his drive to prove his worthiness, until one day he took off and never came back.
- Dramatic Drop: When Wu tells Nya about her secret, she's holding a glass jar which she naturally drops on hearing things.
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: Nya thinks she's being slighted when the others get to go on adventure and she returns to the tea shop to clean up. The truth is far different.
- Epic Fail: Kai tries to find the way to Stiix by following the sun, forgetting that the sun's position moves.
- Got Volunteered: Zane "volunteers" Jay and Cole to fight Morro while he and Kai go with Master Wu.
- His Name Is...: The ghost the ninja are fighting gets splashed with water just as he's about to give away a plot-relevant detail. Jay angrily lampshades the heck out of this.
- Incessant Music Madness: Adding to Kai's problems is the others singing "99 bottles" as they travel. The long version. However, after a while even Kai joins in the singing.
- Kryptonite Factor: Ghosts and water make a bad mix.
- Mugging the Monster: The occupants of the Bad Guy Bar hassle Morro, then try to attack him.
- Social Media Before Reason: Morro is accosted by two librarians who see nothing unusual about the Green Ninja's new look, only asking for his autograph and a selfie, which they take before Morro can actually say anything.
- Wham Episode: Nya turns out to be an heir to an Elemental Master herself, namely water.
