- Surrogate Soliloquy: Lloyd continues recounting his various traumas to Red, who is pretty sick and tired of this by now.
- Third-Act Misunderstanding: When Akita reveals herself to be a Formling, having remained in her wolf form until she felt she could trust Lloyd, he takes it as a betrayal due to the aforementioned trauma recounting.
