Pootie Shoe calls attention to the Masked Man, a mysterious Non-Player Character whose identity Ian has been teasing for some time despite not having any idea. Brad suggests using the identity reveal to launch a new in-game casino, which Poppy derides as artless. In return, Brad tasks Dana and Rachel with bug-testing the casino, turns off the game store, and sends the programmers home, causing Poppy and David no end of stress.
Meanwhile, C.W. and Ian try to brainstorm a backstory for the Masked Man. Jo leaks footage of Ian's lawsuit against his father to Pootie Shoe. Inspired by this, C.W. suggests that the Masked Man is a villainous father who represents the dark while his son is a hero who represents the light who redeems his father... They eventually agree to have him live at a casino, where his son is destined to duel and unmask him.

- Anti-Climax: In-universe. For years, the game has built up a mysterious masked Black Knight with fans buzzing on his identity. Ian has hyped it up as "it'll blow you away" when fans find out his identity. The problem is, despite what Ian and C.W. tell everyone, they have never had any plan for who the Masked Man is and now realize if they don't come up with something big, the backlash will be huge.
- Expy: In-Universe. Out of ideas for the Masked Man's identity, the team decides to rip off Darth Vader and give him a Luke Skywalker stand-in for a son ("The White Knight").Ian: It is a bit like Star Wars, yeah. I was hoping you wouldn't notice.
- Lying Creator: In-Universe, Ian swore to the fanbase multiple times that the Masked Man's identity would blow their minds. In truth, he hadn't written anything about the character.
