Misty uses her magic key to open a portal to the Dragonlands.

- Big Damn Reunion: Misty and Alphabittle reunite in his tea shop.
- Didn't Think This Through: Played with. Sparky runs happily into the portal to the Dragonlands looking for other dragons and everyone follows. When they find nothing, it occurs to Izzy that they never bothered marking the path back to the portal. Pipp then reveals she thought ahead and left a trail of flower petals, which impresses Zipp.
- Exact Words: Misty asks a wandering Breezie if it knows of any doors in the area, and it cheerfully leads her to the only one it's familiar with — the one to its (very tiny) home.
- "Eureka!" Moment: After their adventure in the Dragonlands, Pipp shows Misty a series of pictures she took with Queen Haven and Alphabittle. Misty seems familiar with Alphabittle, and her cutie mark glows just like his did. Zipp, making the connection, asks Misty if the shadowy figure in his visions is a monster or someone else. This causes Misty to revisit the memory once more and realize it was actually Alphabittle.
- Eye Recall: One of Misty's flashbacks begins with a zoom-in onto her eye.
- Family of Choice: After Misty gives up what seems to be her one chance of finding her family, her friends assure her that they can be her family instead.
- Ghost Town: The Dragonlands have evidence that dragons have been present, seemingly recently, but none of them are anywhere to be found. Sunny and company theorize that they may all have fled in order to avoid capture by Opaline. Hitch is willing to return Sparky to his own kind if that's what it takes to help him recover, but he's not about to leave Sparky there if they can't find any dragons to look after him.
- Glowing Eyes of Doom: Played with. When Sunny shouts into a cave in the Dragonlands to see if anyone is inside, several pairs of round yellow eyes open in the darkness and glare angrily at her. They turn out to belong to a swarm of bats.
- Greater Need Than Mine: Misty uses her single-use portal key to take Sparky to the Dragonlands, both as penance for being responsible for his poor health and because it's the only way they'll actually find the Dragonlands without a map.
- I Have to Go Iron My Dog: When Queen Haven learns that Pipp and Zipp went to the Dragonlands, the two are quick to make their excuses and leave.Pipp: Uhhh, I think I have to go work on my mane and hoof line!
Zipp: And I, um, gotta help her! - It's All My Fault: Misty blames herself for Sparky having his magic drained by Opaline.
- Needle in a Stack of Needles: While the group searches for Misty, Hitch points out that finding a unicorn in a place filled with unicorns isn't going to be easy.
- The Reveal: Misty is Alphabittle's daughter.
- Saying Too Much: When Hitch apologizes to Alphabittle for Sparky's dragon fire in the tea shop, he explains how they all went to the Dragonlands, accidentally outing Pipp and Zipp to Queen Haven, who is in the shop with them.
- Skewed Priorities: Zipp at one point worries that Misty's absence means that she'll miss a critical clue regarding Misty's visions. And when Misty returns, Zipp quickly bombards her with inquiries about those same visions.
- Trail of Bread Crumbs: When the group goes chasing after Sparky, Pipp lays down a trail of flower petals so they can find their way back to the portal even without the benefit of cell phone service or a map.
- Wham Episode: Misty realizes that Alphabittle is her dad, and the two reunite in his tea shop.
