Recap / My Little Pony 'n Friends E4: "The End of Flutter Valley 4"

Go To

In Bumbleland, Queen Bumble commands her bees to pour honey into the giant beehive where the flutter ponies are trapped, in order to ground them good and proper. Morning Glory manages to wriggle free and escape into Bumbleland's frozen forest, but is quickly recaptured. Queen Bumble assigns Sting to watch over her to ensure she doesn't escape again.

Meanwhile, the little ponies are cornered by the stonebacks against an apple tree, but escape by causing the apples to fall on the beasts and escape in the confusion. As they run through the orchards, a door opens on one of the trees and a green furbob invites them through into Furbobia, the furbobs' current home while they hide from the stonebacks. The furbobs use a healing chant to fix Baby Cuddles' leg and, in return, the ponies decide to help them with their stoneback problem.

As this happens, the witches settle into Flutter Valley and enjoy their quickly dying surroundings. When her daughters ask how long it's going to take for it to become as dark and barren as they want it, Hydia says that Flutter Valley's fate will be complete by nightfall.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Heal It with Nature: The furbobs live in harmony with nature and they use Magic Music to call on the healing power of nature and fix Baby Cuddles' leg after she hurt herself in a fall.
  • Magic Music: The furbobs use a magical healing song to fix Baby Cuddles' leg. How exactly this works isn't clear, although it seems to invoke nature's ability to heal.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: When Sting voices concerns about the swarm's increasingly villainous activities when Queen Bumble orders him to guard Morning Glory, she asks him whether he wishes to remain her right hand or not. He starts answering that he's not actually too sure about that, but an angry Bumble cuts him short and orders him to just go guard the prisoner already.
