The one with the school play gone wrong.

"Stage Fright" contains examples of:

  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Inverted, as it turns out that the hideous aliens were trying to warn Jenny of the beautiful, but malevolent invaders.
  • Ignored Aesop: Lampshaded to no end thanks to Jenny, who, after beating the beautiful aliens out of the planet and giving everyone a front-row seat to the whole "never judge a book by its cover" lesson, the director still refused to give Jenny a part in the play. It took her heavily revising the script for him to even consider adding her.
  • Poor Communication Kills: The first batch of aliens that came to Earth to try and warn of the evil invaders tailing them were only frantically shouting "Alien invasion!" with no context, giving Jenny the wrong idea and think they're the invaders. By the time the actual invaders show up, she is underprepared for them.
  • Warning Mistaken for Threat: Jenny's school gets its roof caved in by aliens warning them of malevolent invaders. But their frantic behavior combined with them simply saying "Alien invasion!" with no context lead to Jenny to believe that they were the invaders and waste her time beating them up rather than prepare for the fire aliens that would show up shortly after.

Never Say Uncle

Year produced: 2005

Production code: 303b

Original U.S. air date: 2/21/2009

The one with Jenny's aunt and uncle.

"Never Say Uncle" contains examples of:

  • Granola Girl: Wisteria preferred nature over science and technology, which played a part in her and Nora's estranged relationship.
  • Kids Play Matchmaker: An obviously non-romantic example, but all Jenny and Glenn wanted was to see their mothers bury the hatchet and start acting like a family again.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Unlike their mothers, Jenny and Glenn swiftly bond and happily come to consider each other cousins.
  • Long-Lost Relative: To Jenny, aunt Wisteria and cousin Glenn is this, as Nora ceased all communications with them over differencing world viewpoints.
