Midoriya and the others are put on standby and ordered to return to school, while keeping what they learn a secret, as the Pros continue to track down the Shie Hassaikai. When they are finally called back, they learn of Overhaul's location and prepare to strike. He and Togata hope to keep their promise and rescue Eri.

- Forbidden Chekhov's Gun: Last episode, Sir Nighteye says he can't use his Foresight Quirk as he risks seeing an unavoidable death, and refuses to use it on any Pro who volunteered. That doesn't mean he includes civilians, specially if they relate to any of his cases; while continuing the investigation on his own, he was lucky enough to run into a civilian at a toy store who is looking for a girl's toy. Activating his Quirk, he discovers the man is part of Chisaki's gang who is taking care of Eri.
- Keeping Secrets Sucks: Midoriya and the other students who were attending last episode's meeting were ordered to keep what they heard confidential until they are called back. Mirio is seen uncharacteristically, but briefly, distancing himself from Nejire and Tamaki, and Midoriya is anxious and worried to tears about Eri's well-being.
- No Warrant? No Problem!: Realistically defied in cases like this episode. Even when they find Overhaul's hideout, the Pros and Japanese police force can't just rush in without a warrant. By the end of the episode, they obtain the necessary papers to begin their raid.
- On Patrol Montage: A good portion of the episode is dedicated to the heroes seen last episode going about the assignments that Sir Nighteye gave them, with most of them playing The Stakeout on several locations.
- Right Under Their Noses: While the rest of the Pros search for Overhaul throughout Japan, they learn that he is much closer than they anticipated. In "Fighting Fate", Sir Nighteye and Bubble Girl staked out the Chisaki residence before they are called by Togata and Midoriya. Thanks to his Foresight Quirk, he confirms that the same building is where Eri is being held.
