The new students of Class 1-A at U.A. High must now get their Quirks judged by their homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa, to determine if they are fit to be heroes or not.Tropes:
- Cassandra Truth: Iida, having seen Izuku's new Quirk in action, doesn't believe Bakugo's claim that Izuku is Quirkless, and Bakugo, having known Izuku his whole life, doesn't believe he has a Quirk until he sees it in action.
- Fingore: Predictably, using One For All during the softball throw shatters Izuku's right index finger.
- I Lied: Aizawa claims that his threat to expel the worst-performing student was a motivational lie. However, a conversation between him and All Might afterwards indicates that he was actually telling the truth, but changed his mind about expelling Izuku after realizing the kid has potential.
- Jaw Drop: Bakugo is utterly gobsmacked when he sees Izuku using his Quirk in front of him for the first time.
- Second Episode Introduction: The first arc had only eight members of Class 1-A making their first appearancesnote . This, the second arc, has the on-panel debuts of the remaining twelvenote .
