- Lampshade Hanging: After the dummy replica of Adam falls apart following various antics, Jake acknowledges how the real Adam would've complained at least once during the interim.

- Stalker Shrine: Jake has a shrine to Adam in his locker.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: To try to talk to Jake, Adam calls the school pretending to be an adult needing to speak with a student. Mrs. Warthog points out it's against school policy to let anyone talk to a student unless it is an emergency. Principal Pixiefrog adds they could be sued, if they failed to uphold this policy.
- The Voice: The voice of Adam's Mother is heard, when saying goodbye to her sick son.
