Recap / Muppet Babies 2018 Skeeter And The Super Girls

Go To

The second half of the fourteenth episode of the second season of Muppet Babies (2018).

When Gonzo as Dr. Meanzo robs the cookie bank, Skeeter dons a superheroine alter-ego called Top Speed and joins the Super Muppet Babies to stop him. However, she believes that she can't be a real superhero if she wears her glasses, so she ditches them. Her inability to see well without her glasses compromises her mission.

This episode provides examples of:

  • An Aesop: What makes a superhero super isn't (usually) how they look, but what they do to help out those in need.
  • Black Bead Eyes: Skeeter is depicted with these when she doesn't wear her glasses.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Skeeter tries to fight crime as Top Speed without wearing her glasses, believing that real superheroes don't need glasses. However, she can't see very well without them, which compromises her attempts to stop Gonzo as Dr. Meanzo from robbing the cookie bank and causes her to run into trash cans.
  • Evil Is Petty: Dr. Meanzo's motive of robbing the cookie bank is so that he can eat the cookies without sharing them. Meanimal and the Noodler aren't happy this motive, until Meanzo clarifies that he's not sharing the cookies with the good guys.
  • The Glasses Gotta Go: Skeeter ditches her glasses because she thinks that real superheroes don't need them. Since she can't see well without them, this compromises her attempts to stop Gonzo as Dr. Meanzo.
  • Running Gag: As a result of Skeeter not wearing her glasses, she keeps running into trash cans.
  • Super-Speed: Skeeter's superheroine alter-ego is Top Speed, whose superpower is running really fast.
  • Trash Landing: After Skeeter foils Dr. Meanzo's plan to rob the cookie bank, it's Meanzo who lands in a trash can for once.
