Tropes
- Action Film, Quiet Drama Scene: While MTMTE is not an action series, Megatron and Ravage's heart-to-heart is one of the most somber drama scenes in the series thus far.
- Asshole Victim: Of all the D.J.D.'s victims shown in this issue, no-one mourned the loss of Duplicate!Overlord.
- Becoming the Mask: To his disgust, Megatron realizes this happened to him around the time of "Chaos Theory".Megatron: (regarding his speech to Optimus) And the thing is, when those words were in my head, I didn't think I meant them. But when they left my mouth, I realized that I did. If the world thinks you're a monster, what does it matter? The world is wrong. But when you start to think of yourself as a monster...
- Blood from the Mouth: Duplicate!Perceptor, as he's going through Tesarus's grinder.
- Broken Pedestal: How Ravage feels about Megatron.
- Brutal Honesty: Megatron can't comfort Ravage at all during their conversation.
- Call-Back: Crosscut's play, Information Creep, was apparently being performed on the other Lost Light when the D.J.D. showed up.
- Continuity Nod: Megatron refers to his memorable speech from "Chaos Theory, Part I".
- Cruel and Unusual Death: The D.J.D. do what they do best to the majority of the Lost Light crew...and Overlord.
- Defector from Decadence: Megatron decided that defecting to the Autobots would be the easiest way to get away from the horrible monster he and the Decepticon cause had become.
- Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: While discussing the deaths of some of the alternate Lost Lighters at the hands of a fusion cannon, Megatron, realizing his future is uncertain, has an Oh, Crap! and agrees to sit tight in a closet while the others look into things.
- Not So Stoic: Ravage breaks somewhat during his heart-to-heart with Megatron.
- Slasher Smile: Even Helex, Perpetual Frowner that he is, cracks a smile on finding Overlord.
- Spotting the Thread: What with the lights being off, and the corpses and energon everywhere, it takes the gang a while to notice they've set down in Swerve's, and that there's a poster for Crosscut's play, the one he hadn't finished yet.
- That Man Is Dead: Megatron says this about himself during his talk with Ravage, who in turns questions whether he is dead, or just resting...
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Ravage proves he's not a bad person at all, and genuinely believed in the good that came from the Decepticon ideology.
- Wham Shot: Someone is found hiding in the Magnus Armor — Rewind!
- What the Hell, Hero?: Ravage is livid at Megatron for betraying the Decepticon cause, though Megatron was able to see the monsters that the Decepticons had become.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Ravage desperately employs these to try to prop up his emotionally wounded former leader. They don't work.
