Go To

Jolted from mystic-meditation, Monkey King is convinced he's his younger self. When Tang is kidnapped, it's Young Monkey King and Pigsy to the rescue.

Tropes:

  • Amnesia Episode: The episode’s plot concerns Monkey King getting amnesia, in the case that his memories revert back to when he was his younger self on the journey to the west, believing Pigsy, Tang and Mo to be his old companions Zhu Bajie, Tang Sanzang and Sha Wujing respectively.
  • Battle Cry: It turns out that Monkey King had one in his younger days, and a very familiar one at that:
"Sun Wukong": Here... comes... MONKEY KING!
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: The Scorpion Demon simply wanted for someone to keep her company in her castle. She soon regrets this when Pigsy exchanges Tang for a very talkative guide who led him and Sun Wukong to Tang.
  • Delayed Reaction: Pigsy feeds a meditating Monkey King a ghost pepper to wake him up, only to make him lose his memory. By the end of the episode, he regains his memory thanks to Tang, and finally reacts to the pepper.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Tang figured out that woman who abducted him is a demon of the scorpion variety. However, he and the others thought she was going to eat him, but learn she just wanted company.
  • Simultaneous Arcs: This episode takes place at the same time as the last one, thanks to Macaque splitting up the team.
  • Wham Line: When Pigsy brings up the search for the three rings of the Samadhi Fire to an amnesiac Monkey King, he casually corrects him by saying there are "four rings." By the end, Pigsy recalls this conversation, now suspicious of how much Monkey King knows about the rings, and how much he is hiding.
