  • Continuity Nod:
    • Montey Cribbits is the author of Travis Hightower's bogus book about mammoths from "Book of Mammoths," and his name was in the register book in "Puzzled."

  • Two Scenes, One Dialogue: Molly, Tooey, and Trini each tell their families that aliens are coming, relaying the same information as the scene switches amongst them.

"Lights, Camera, Patak!": Molly and Tooey help Mr. Patak get over his debilitating camera shyness so he can film a video.

"Lights, Camera, Patak!" contains the following tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: For Mr. Patak.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: When attempting to film the video, Mr. Patak is showing viewers how to select wood for a walking stick, but gets distracted by a red-tailed hawk.
  • Call-Back: In the season one episode "Spring Carnival," Mr. Patak was shown to be camera shy when Molly suddenly turned her camera on him. This episode expands on that moment by giving him full blown performance anxiety.

  • Hopeless with Tech: Downplayed. Mr. Patak doesn't know how to use the camera on his phone.
