"Hot Springs Eternal": It's a cold winter and Molly is set on discovering a hot spring Grandpa Nat once found in a blizzard.
"Hot Springs Eternal" contains the following tropes:
- Conspicuously Light Patch: When Molly goes to get a book from the book shelf, the blue book about hot springs stands out against the rest. Indeed, that's the book she picks out.
- Healing Spring: Molly reads about how hot springs have minerals that can treat arthritis. This turns out to be true.
- Hot Springs Episode: The episode centers on Molly, Tooey, Walter, and Nat going to a hot spring. Being the show that this is, this episode is not used for fanservice.
- Monster-Shaped Mountain: A tree shaped like a moose is a landmark used to locate the hot spring.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is a pun on the phrase "hope springs eternal."
- That's No Moon: At one point, Molly thinks she's found a moose-shaped tree. It turns out to be an actual moose.
"Tooey's Hero": Tooey's hero, dog musher Eugene Pike, is recreating a historic mail run across interior Alaska.
"Tooey's Hero" contains the following tropes:
- Acquired Error at the Printer: Tooey's banner for Eugene Pike was supposed to say "Welcome Hero," but it got misspelled as "Welcome Herf."
- Catapult Nightmare: Tooey jolts out of bed when he wakes up from his bad dream and realizes that Eugene is gonna be in danger.
- Dream Sequence: We don't get to see it on screen, but distorted voice clips echo in Tooey's mind while asleep. This turns out to be a premonition that the ice isn't safe for Eugene to cross.
- Friendly Address Privileges: Eugene Pike says this his close friends call him "Pike." Tooey is ecstatic at the implication that he is friends with his hero.
- Hero-Worshipper: Tooey is this to Eugene Pike.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: Tooey is slightly nervous about Pike's visit. Molly suggests he drink hot chocolate to cool down.
- Irony: Tooey regards Pike has a hero, but then Tooey himself becomes a hero by the end of the episode by getting the mail to Qyah when Pike couldn't make it.
- Master Archer: Besides being a good dog musher, Pike also turns out to be a skilled archer.
- Sled Dogs Through the Snow: Once upon a time, a dog musher helped spread mail to several small villages. Eugene Pike sets out to recreate this run.
- Starstruck Speechless: When Tooey meets Eugene Pike, he goes completely tongue-tied and mixes up his sentences.
