Recap / Middlemost Post S 1 E 16 Dolores Moody PIRATE

Go To

Dolores Moody: Parker tries to cheer up the grouchiest woman on Mt. Middlemost.

"Dolores Moody" provides examples of:

  • An Aesop: Don't force someone to be happy.
  • Guest Star: Veronica Alicino as the titular character
  • Grumpy Old Lady: Dolores Moody, who is always in a grumpy mood.
  • Heroic BSoD: Parker got so upset about not making Dolores happy that they could've stayed a raincloud.
  • Literal-Minded: Parker suggesting Angus' advice of asking Ms. Pam for more jam. Then, later in the episode after Parker got asked by Dolores that they have lost their mind while they let out their brain for a second.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: All of Parker's attempts of making Dolores happy backfire and this start to negatively affect her already miserable life. Except for being rained on apparently.
  • Perpetual Frowner: This is Dolores' default expression.
  • When She Smiles: The rain from Parker finally made Dolores happy that she is seen smiling for the first time.

P.I.R.A.T.E.: Parker, Angus, and Russell must save the S.S. Steadfast from being taken by pirates.

"P.I.R.A.T.E." provides examples of:

  • The Bet: Defeating a game of PIRATE grants the winner the Steadfast. Captain Chestbeard won the ship, but luckily it has a hole that makes it float which he doesn't approve of, so the MMP crew got it back after all.
  • Feuding Families: The Shackleton family has a long rivalry with pirates, particularly the Chestbeard family.
  • Flashback: Has one explaining the rivalry between the Shackletons and pirates.
  • Foreshadowing: Angus' high school nickname (Anchor Shackleton) would later end up being a title for a season 2 episode.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The titular game, which literally means pirate activities.
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: As Mitch the lawyer explains the game of pirates, the Middlemost Post crew get so bored, they almost fell asleep.
  • Pirate Episode: Most of the famous tropes associated with pirates (like having pet parrots) is present in this episode.
  • Seadog Beard: Captain Beardneck has a pretty long beard that expands to his chest, hence his name.
  • Walk the Plank: The first part of the pirate game.
