Dingo finds a flyer regarding a totem pole belonging to his village displayed at the museum and tries to retrieve it. Neo WWW is also trying to purloin the totem pole and use its wood to smoke meat.
- Chekhov's Gun: Shanka's has a flashback to her and Dingo's childhood of them getting lost and Dingo starting a campfire and using the smoke to make SOS signals allowing them to be found. Dingo later does the same thing with Neo WWW's stove allowing Shanka to spot the SOS smoke signals from Charlie's helicopter.
- Conservation of Ninjutsu: Video Man fights Tomahawk Man with an army of Mega Man copies. However, the sheer number of copies he made resulted in them being too small. Tomahawk Man is able to delete them all with one swing of his axe.
- Enemy Mine: After finding Dingo's tomahawk in the tunnel made by Narcy's drilling machine, Manabe wonders if Dingo formed an alliance with Neo WWW. Lan trusts Dingo wouldn't do something like that.
- Mark of the Supernatural: Dingo reveals the day he ran away from home he saw Duo's comet and the end of the episode reveals he has a crest.
- Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Shanka asks why Dingo ran away the day of the martial arts tournament. Dingo says he couldn't defeat Shanka with his own physique. Shanka responds he's beaten adults bigger than her. Lan teases him saying boys would never hit girls. Dingo has a mildly embarrassed look on his face and turns away then follows up saying he had another reason, claiming to see a star in the sky, referring to Duo's comet.
