Trying to find something to turn in for his summer school project, Lan chases some valuable bugs with Mayl in tow but ends up in a desert.
- Heel–Face Revolving Door: The climax shows Mist Man switching between siding with Lan and the Darkloids, usually whoever he's literally standing with is who he attacks. With Ms. Yuri falling through a trap door, leaving Mayl with the lamp, Mist Man joins Lan for good. Even with the lamp destroyed at the end, he fulfills Mayl's request to tell them how to get home.
- Killed Off for Real: Sword Man and Cold Man are deleted.
- My Master, Right or Wrong: Mist Man obeys whoever holds his lamp.
- Shout-Out: The episode ends with Ms. Yuri facing Jason Voorhees while Lan and Mayl are terrorized by Freddy Krueger.
