• The Atoner: Diana, big time for this episode.
• Break the Haughty:
  • After spending the previous episode showing off Martin in capturing the monsters before him (not that he totally didn't deserved it), Diana got what is coming to her when she found out Octavia Paine lied to her about the goal of her organization. To add insult to injury, she ended up turning into a mutant against her will using the monsters she captured for Octavia. In the end when all is said and done, she is seen begging for MOM's forgiveness for her actions while being placed in a tank to restore herself back to normal.
  • MOM also had it coming when the Core demoted her.
• Change the Uncomfortable Subject: Diana's response to Martin making a snide comment that she is no different from Octavia is to crumple a piece of paper out of frustration.
• Easily Forgiven: Downplayed with Martin who is at first reluctant in taking Diana with him in taking down Octavia.
• Karmic Transformation: Diana ended up mutated into a half-lizard against her will when she found out of Octavia's true goal. Considering that she called her predecessors "freaks" before her transformation, she totally had it coming. To add insult to injury, she's mutated through the combined materials of the monsters she captured for Octavia in the previous episode.
• My God, What Have I Done?: Diana reacts this way when she realized Octavia lied to her about CIHL's goal, and that she unwittingly helped her in her revenge goal against the Center.
• Unwitting Pawn: Diana, as she found out the hard way. Octavia Paine even lampshades this.
  Diana: I thought you said you were looking for a way for humans and monsters to co-exist peacefully.
  Octavia: Are you really that naive?
