Martin and Diana are stuck at school for Christmas until M.O.M. invites them to the Center's Christmas party. All goes well until an evil elf appears, intent on ruining everyone's Christmas by twisting their Christmas wishes.

General Tropes:

  • Accidental Incantation: After Diana reads aloud the note from the gift Martin gave her, everyone’s Christmas wishes come true in twisted ways.
  • Actually Quite Catchy: While M.O.M. is unwillingly delivering a message to Martin to the tune of “Jingle Bells”, Billy can be seen in the background bobbing his head along to the song. When she finishes, Java then launches into the chorus before receiving a Collective Death Glare from the rest of the group.
  • Brick Joke: Because he left his Christmas shopping until the last minute when all the stores are already closed, Martin mentions that he may be getting everyone stamps again. Later, at the Center Christmas party, when Martin hands out his gifts Diana asks if they’re stamps.
  • Christmas Elves: Jingle Jim (a.k.a. Mijelgnij), an Evil Elf that twists the wishes of people and turns them against them.
  • Gift-Giving Gaffe: M.O.M. gives everyone headbands with alien eyes on top, Diana gives out pocket protectors, and Java has made everyone wooden penguins. None of these seem to be very well-received.
  • Ironic Echo: Upon starting their search for Mijelgnij, Martin says “After all, how hard can it be to find a three-foot-tall elf?”. They then walk into a decorative Christmas village filled with animatronic elves, after which Diana sarcastically repeats this exact line.
  • Irony: The Evil Elf's presents operate like-so, giving their recipients the opposite of what they want for Christmas. Java wants a white Christmas, so his present makes snow melt in his presence. Diana wants a quiet and peaceful Christmas, so the Evil Elf's present make her ears large and sensitive. Since she hates Christmas carols, the present for M.O.M. makes it so she sings in Christmas Carol fashion whenever she speaks.
  • Jabba Table Manners: In her Imagine Spot about being stuck at school with Martin for the holidays, Diana pictures him messily eating a bowl of pudding.
  • Lots of Luggage: Diana packs several suitcases to go home for Christmas, which Martin and Java have to carry of course.
Diana: I didn’t have time to decide what to bring, so I just packed everything!
  • Mecha-Mooks: Jingle Jim brings an army of animatronic elves to life that sprout Scary Teeth and Absurdly Sharp Claws.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: The extra present Jingle Jim decided to throw in for Martin ends up being his undoing as Martin uses it to undo everyone’s curse.
    • Also, the giant ears he gave Diana allow her to find him even when he’s invisible.
  • Our Elves Are Different: Mijelgnij is a Christmas elf that can morph into some kind of werebeast, control electricity, and turn invisible.
  • Race Against the Clock: Martin has to find Mijelgnij before midnight or else all his friends will be stuck with their Christmas curses forever.
  • Sdrawkcab Alias: The name Mijelgnij gives Martin, Jingle Jim, is just his real name backwards.
  • Serious Business: How M.O.M. treats the Center’s Christmas party.
  • Shout-Out: While in town, the gang sees a little girl who has giant buck teeth because she had wished for her two front teeth for Christmas in a reference to the song “All I Want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)”.
  • Under the Mistletoe: In his Imagine Spot about being stuck at school with Diana for the holidays, Martin pictures himself hanging mistletoe over a doorway to catch cute girls but instead Diana walks underneath.
    • Later, when Diana calls Billy’s costume cute, he asks her if it’s cute enough to meet him later under the mistletoe.
  • Wishplosion: The Evil Elf's presents are designed to give the recipient the opposite of what they want for Christmas so as to ruin the holiday for them. Martin's way of reversing the Elf's curse on everybody is to open his own present, because what he wants is a supernatural Christmas. Henceforth, the present gives him a Christmas where nothing remarkable ever happened.
  • Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: The first time we see Mijelgnij, he is completely in shadow except for his glowing yellow eyes.
