Recap / Little Princess S 2 E 21 I Want To Be An Explorer

Go To

On a spring day, the King and Princess are looking at old family photos. They find one of the King's grandfather (so the Princess's great-grandfather), who was an explorer. She doesn't know what one is, so the King explains, going on to reveal that the great-grandfather claimed to have found the "Blue Boogaloo Land" in the garden, which housed a type of butterfly called a red wibbler. The Queen says that the great-grandfather was "always making things up" and the things he claimed to find haven't been seen, so she doubts the Blue Boogaloo Land and wibbler really exist. The Princess, however, still believes in them and she sets off to search for them.

She goes into her room, puts on an explorer's hat, and gets a net to catch the wibbler. She runs into the Admiral at the pond and explains what she's doing. He hasn't seen what she's looking for, but lets her borrow his telescope. Meanwhile, the pets set out to explore themselves, but Puss swipes Scruff's net.

The Princess finds the General and Maid having a picnic and asks them if they know where Blue Boogaloo Land is. They haven't but the General thinks the Princess needs food on her journey, so he gives her some jam sandwiches.

Some time later, the Princess has observed the Chef playing "music" with pots and pans, the Prime Minister waltzing with a rag doll, and the Gardener clowning around with his wheelbarrow, but no wibblers or Blue Boogaloo Lands. Meanwhile, Scruff is sad because he misses Puss, and Puss falls into the pond.

Princess feels a bit discouraged, but then she hears a flapping noise, which could be a wibbler. It turns out to be the Maid hanging the laundry out, though. This makes the Princess really discouraged, until the narrator asks her if she's sure she explored everywhere. She realises that she hasn't explored the orchard.

In the orchard, the Princess discovers that Blue Boogaloo Land is real, but it's only a wacky name for a bluebell patch. She's still happy, though, and shows her parents, who bring Scruff. Puss then appears, and the pets are reunited. Then, a wibbler flies by unnoticed.
