Becoming the Mask: Interacting with the good people of Walnut Grove eventually touches Caleb's heart, to the degree that not only does he abandon his original scheme to steal the relief collection, he actually does his levelbest to really be a Good Shepherd, consoling a grieving widow and assuring Isaiah Edwards' young daughter Alicia that her puppy will get into Heaven.
Dark and Troubled Past: Caleb is heavily implied to have lived a long criminal lifestyle of con artistry and such. His wife is afraid that if he continues his path, he'll end up locked in jail for good.
Heel–Face Turn: After Becoming the Mask, Caleb decides to give up on embezzling the collection. Thankfully, when Rev. Alden shows up, he decides not to expose him as a fraud and let him go no worse for wear and well-respected by everyone in town.
The Lost Lenore: Addie Bjornesen fell depressed after the death of her husband. She gets better after a little pep talk from "Brother Hodgekins".
Series Continuity Error: In the previous Season, Mrs. Whipple's given name was said to be Amanda. Here, she's called May Whipple (May might or not be a nickname).
Sinister Minister: Played with, as Caleb isn't an actual man of the cloth, but he poses as one so that he can defraud the people of Walnut Grove.
