It's a lovely day in the Kingdom of Lovelylocks, but Duchess Ravenwaves plans to take over the Looking Room by digging a tunnel under the castle, along with Hairball and the Comb Gnomes. Since hair raises and lowers the castle, the tunnel is full of regrowing hair, which stymies them temporarily. As Lady and the Maidens play ball, Prince Strongheart digs a hole and falls into the tunnel. Meanwhile, Ravenwaves finishes the tunnel, but spots Strongheart, and orders her minions to capture him before they seize the Looking Room.
They succeed, but sudden quakes cause a cave-in on both ends of the tunnel, trapping Ravenwaves, Hairball, Strongheart, and the Comb Gnomes. Curlycrown and Fairhair realize the foundation of the castle is shaking, meaning something's happened under the castle. Lady rallies the villagers to dig them out, with Strongheart getting out first. With the castle's hair closing in on them, Ravenwaves, Hairball, and the Comb Gnomes are freed, but refuse to thank Lady for saving them. Fairhair adds a dragon-hair net to stabilize the castle and prevent any more tunnels being dug, though Lady's confident Ravenwaves won't try it again.
