Season 1, Episode 22: The Tyrannis Crown Affair

Tropes That Appear In This Episode:

  • Dating Catwoman: Stupendous and the thief are continually flirting with each other.
  • Escaped Animal Rampage: After all the monsters have been freed from the Battledome, Deliria asks where they all went. Hippo says that they likely went back to the wild to live in peace. Cut to the monsters laying waste to a city.
  • Eye Scream: Deliria pulls out Hermes' left eye right after he punches her, causing him to yell in pain and fall into the audience. Of course, since he is a god, it will take a long time to regenerate the eye.
  • Free the Frogs: Hippo sets about freeing all the monsters from Hermes' Battledome.
  • Mathematician's Answer: After the thief escapes, Tyrannis ask Shlub if he has seen what happened. Shlub answers "Yes", offering no useful information whatsoever.
  • No Name Given: The thief's name is never revealed in the episode. When Stupendous points out she never learned his name before he leaves for good, he just laughs and say "I know".
  • Police Brutality: Tyrannis introduces the concept of the police force, which is to patrol the streets of the city. One cop starts attacking a citizen who tries to steal an apple from a stand, but once another citizen picks the apple up, he gets beaten by another cop, and when the owner of the stand gets the apple back, he gets beaten by more cops. Soon, all three of them get arrested and locked in a cage.
  • Skewed Priorities: Hippocampus and Deliria hate Hermes' Monster Battledome for different reasons: Hippo because he believes the monsters should be free and not be exploited for entertainment, Deliria because Hermes had changed the name of what was once Hermes and Deliria's Monster Enchantment.
  • Worth It: When Tyrannis points out that the police have mostly caught fruit thieves, the camera reveals Schlub in a cage, stating "And it was worth it. Best mango I ever had."
