- Cool, but Inefficient: The restaurant featured Caesar salads made from scratch tableside (one of the few things on the menu that wasn't premade or frozen), but it took the waiter ten minutes to make one, and when Gordon tried to eat it, all the dressing fell off the lettuce because the waiter forgot to dry it.
- Disappointed in You: Andrew feels betrayed by Frank due to thinking that the pasta is homemade when Frank admits they're manufactured.
- Dysfunctional Family: Frank and Anthony have a complicated relationship due to the latter's drug habit that made him steal money from the restaurant. The brothers barely tolerate each other at the start of the episode, and Frank's depression becomes a major hurdle for the business. It takes a heartfelt letter from Anthony and a teary plea from his wife Kim to finally reconsider his attitude and Ramsay's guidance and praise take him out of his slump and make him put on his chef jacket.
- The Eeyore: Frank had been fighting burnout and depression for a long time before Ramsay came to the restaurant due to his strained relationship with Anthony and even quits due to a large number of orders, with his wife Kim crying that he's not himself.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Anthony and Frank used to be this in the past, but Anthony's willingness to admit his mistakes and Frank's refusal to acknowledge that his Brothers had changed switched them around.
- Manly Tears: Frank sheds some tears while he realizes just how much Gordon has helped him.
- Prematurely Gray Haired: Frank is 47 at the time of the filming, but his hair had mostly gone gray due to stress.
- Recovered Addict: Anthony used to be addicted to painkillers and heroin and would often embezzle money from the restaurant's profits to finance his habit, driving a wedge between Frank and himself. He was going through a recovery process during the filming.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: As becomes overwhelmed with orders, Frank decides to leave the restaurant mid-service and go out for a smoke, contemplating if he even wants to come back.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: Frank spews a large amount of F-bombs when heated and stressed.
- Skewed Priorities: While Ramsay is listing all the negatives about the food, Frank asks him if he liked the sauce, while Gordon answers "Who gives a shit about the sauce?"
