After being fatigued due to blood loss from Senketsu, Ryuko is brought into the care of Mako's family. The next day, she is confronted by Tennis Captain Hakodate Omiko.

- Beat Them at Their Own Game: Omiko challenges Ryuko to a game of tennis since it's a specialty of hers. Despite some intital trouble Ryuko turns the tables on her.
- Insane Troll Logic: How does Omiko react when Ryuko tells her that Mako was held hostage, and wasn't able to participate in practice? She's told that Mako had to inform her in advance.
- Undressing the Unconscious: When Ryuko regains consciousness from her "fight" with Omiko Hakodate, she noticed that Senketsu is hanging by a wire. Aikuro Mikisugi actually removed Senketsu from her when he found her unconscious.
- When All You Have Is a Hammer…: Ryuko tries to play the tennis match with regular rackets but they keep getting destroyed each time as Omiko goku uniform makes it impossible to properly play against using regular means. Eventually she uses the scissor blade and some life fibers as a makeshift racket to finally even the odds.
