Dokko announces a riddle contest in which everyone must come up with three different riddles, and whoever solves the most wins the game. Wally is distraught, because he can't come up with a good riddle. He stands outside Carlin's house, mumbling to himself while trying to come up with something, but Carlin is irritated because of this even though Wally is too far from his house for his voice to be heard. Wally realizes Carlin has a perfect sense of hearing and decides to use this ability to snoop on everyone else's riddles to answer them correctly. Rosa, Krash and Chiko, whom they've been spying on, find out about this and demand that Carlin help them with snooping on others too. Carlin, unable to take such burden, runs off into the woods and laments on people using his magical hearing to their advantage. In his ramblings, Carlin decides that it might be a very good riddle to enter the contest with: who listens to the snooping bird?
