Pin is fixing the Iron Nanny, when suddenly the bolt he was about to screw in fell off. He took a quick look at the bolts and begins laughing uproariously, explaining to Rosa, who visited him so he could fix his radio, that he used an 11 size bolts when he needed the 12 size ones. Rosa asks what's funny about that, but he doesn't give a clear answer and continues laughing. Later, he attends Carlin's party with Rosa and Barry, as Carlin tells a story of him getting stuck in the vents while performing. Everyone's laughing at his story, but Pin isn't. After Carlin is finished, Pin tells the story of how one day he used to hear someone knocking at his door, but when he went to check who it was, there was no one there. Now no one but Pin is laughing.
After the evening is over, Barry wants Carlin to teach him how to tell an entertaining story. Carlin requests Barry tell a story, and he does. One day, when digging for potatoes, Barry heard a clanging sound, and thinking it's buried treasure, decided to dig it up, but it turned out to be plain garbage. Carlin tells his story comes from expectations vs. reality, and that it lacks details, beginning to assume Barry thought it was actual treasure and how he'd get rich from it, but Barry tells otherwise. Then Carlin assumes that he thought it was something he lost long ago, but Barry refutes that as well, with Carlin declaring the situation hopeless.
Meanwhile, Pin modified the Iron Nanny so she's the one who can laugh at his terrible jokes. Rosa then comes by again so he can fix her stove. While fixing it, Pin gets angry and kicks the stove, making it explode. While lying in the remains of the explosion, he suddenly realises he forgot to plug the vent while working, as he laughs at the situation. Carlin starts laughing as well, making Rosa join in too. During the laughter fit, Pin realizes that the knocking sound he heard was actually him the whole time, making the joke somewhat funny. Just then, Barry comes by to show Carlin the "garbage" he dug up, as he explains this "garbage" is a platinum plate, meaning he found actual treasure.
