Other dub names: Sleepy Time (4Kids), The Pedagogical Poem (Studio 100)

Carlin and Olga are playing lotto, but their game is interrupted by Krash and Chiko's soccer ball. When the two birds finish their game, Carlin declares a nap time. Everyone falls asleep quickly... except for Krash, who's not used to sleep during the day. Carlin decides to show him how to do it; when he claps his hands, Krash will fall asleep. After 137 attempts, Carlin succeeds, and Krash finally falls asleep. Later, Krash and Chiko walk past Barry's garden. Barry tells them what he's lost his spade and claps his hands in the process. Krash instantly falls asleep to the surprise of his friends. Barry wakes Krash up, but as soon as he hits himself on the head, Krash falls asleep again. Chiko suggests that Carlin may be responsible for this.

Carlin makes excuses, that Krash can now fall asleep anywhere. He fulfilled his request, but at the same time he developed a conditioned reflex for clapping. Carlin knocks on Chiko's head, and Krash falls asleep again. His friends decide to carry their friend to Dokko.

Dokko examines Krash and suggests developing a reverse reflex; now, he will wake up to the claps instead. This works, and Krash finally stops responding to claps.

Tropes:

  • Behavioral Conditioning: Krash falls asleep when someone claps their hands. At the end of the episode, it's replaced by the opposite reflex of waking up when somebody claps.
  • Shout-Out: The original Russian and Studio 100 title of the episode, ” The Pedagogical Poem”, a reference to a book of the same name.
