Other dub names: Potential Disaster (4Kids), Good News! (Studio 100)

One day, Krash wanted to test his, Chiko's and Wally's strength and character. Dokko communicates with them through the radio and tells him about the impending storm, telling them to go back, which Krash ignores. His friends are already exhausted and frozen, but they have to obey. When they were lifting Wally to the next level, Chiko couldn't stand it and yells at Krash. His cry caused an avalanche that swept the friends into an ice crack.

Krash digs up his friends. He notices that now they have gained a very useful experience that may come in handy later. Chiko and Wally are completely exhausted and dream of hot tea and a warm bed. Then Dokko contacts Krash again and warns him about the earthquake. The trio runs through the ice cave, dodging icicles from above. The cave ends with a lava lake into which Chiko almost falls, but Krash and Wally save him. The ice floe on which they stand breaks off and begins to melt quickly in the lava. Chiko and Wally have already lost hope in coming out of this adventure alive, but suddenly a volcanic eruption begins and they are carried outside.

Krash decides to climb the volcano and tells his friends that he has great news. Hearing these words, Chiko and Wally run away in horror.

Tropes:

  • Climactic Volcano Backdrop: Close to the end of the episode, the trio finds themselves in the mouth of a volcano.
  • Hair-Trigger Avalanche: As Krash, Chiko and Wally climb up the mountain, the former two talk to each other about the dangerous adventure. Krash is very excited about it, but Chiko snaps and yells at his friend that not everyone likes it as much as Krash does, triggering an avalanche.
  • Misery Builds Character: Krash definitely thinks so, taking a worsening weather, avalanche, earthquake and errupting volcano as "Great News". Chiko and Wally think the opposite way.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The plot of the episode largely repeats the film Vertical, just without the volcano.

Great News - KikoRiki

Chiko wasn't in the best place to yell at Krash. Although not everyone seems to be complaining.
