Hockey, Part 1

Chiko makes a snowman next to the hockey field where the game takes place. The puck that flew out destroys part of the snowman, and Chiko returns it to the field. Krash offers to play with them, but Chiko does not want to play such a cruel and dangerous game.

After the end of the game, the teams meet in the locker room and apologize to each other for the injuries caused. Krash has too many serious injuries and can no longer play. Chiko takes care of him, and Krash offers a friend to replace him on the field. Under the guidance of Krash, Chiko begins to train, but he is not good at standing on the ice.

In the evening, the game starts and the teams go out on the ice. Krash throws the puck, and the game begins. Wally takes possession of the puck and rushes to Chiko. Dokko demands to pin him to the side, but Chiko is lost in fear and lets Wally through. Dokko takes the puck himself, and Pin demands that Chiko wake up. Krash throws the puck again, and it rolls up to Chiko, but he doesn't understand what to do with it. Carlin knocks him down, and Olga scores the first goal. Dokko demands that Chiko play at full strength because it's not ballroom dancing. Crash throws the puck again, and Chiko rushes after it, but Olga stops him, and Carlin scores the second goal. Chiko tries to play on, but despite his efforts, two more goals were scored against the blue team.

Hockey, Part 2

The disgruntled blue team is sitting in the locker room and is angry at Chiko. Krash invites the team to the ice. Pin sits down next to Chiko and tells him that he is very kind because he is very modest. He is used to conceding to everyone, but here he is fighting not for himself but for the team, and for her, it is impossible to be modest. The team is hurting and insulting right now. The team does not understand why Chiko allows her to be offended and does not protect. Inspired by his words, Chiko pulls himself together and starts playing like a real master. Soon he manages to even the score and then bring the team victory.

Some time passes. Chiko trains on the field and asks Krash why no one came to play. Krash says they won't play anymore. Spring has come, and now we need to wait for the next season. All summer, Chiko misses the game. He sees Barry and suggests coming up with a summer version of hockey to play with the whole team again. Barry refuses, because he will be busy with business until the winter. Chiko returns to the house and begins to think over tactics for the upcoming game.

Finally, winter comes, and the teams gather on the ice again. Chiko does not go on the ice with them; he became a coach. After explaining the new tactics to the team, he stands behind the fence and watches them. Krash offers to play with them, but Chiko refuses. The team needs him more here for now. Let them remember that you need to play without unnecessary tenderness. Hockey is not ballroom dancing.

Tropes

  • Extreme Doormat: Chiko starts out as one, but manages to get over himself in the second part.
  • Failures on Ice: At first, Chiko does not manage to stay on the ice at all.
  • Hockey Fight: After Chiko starts playing at full strength, the hockey match turned into a fight.
  • Huddle Power: The whole team hugs Chiko after he starts scoring goals.
  • Save Our Team: Pin reads Chiko an inspiring speech that he is part of the team and must protect her and not allow her to be offended. Chiko is so strongly motivated by his words that he quickly brings the team victory.
  • Series Continuity Error: Chiko suggests Barry come up with a summer version of hockey, despite the fact that he has already played it with Krash in the episode "Her Name Was Rosa". This may be explained by the fact that the events of this episode occur earlier.
  • Team Spirit: Chiko was able to start playing at full strength only after he realized that he was part of the team.
  • The Hopeless Replacement: Initially, Chiko was supposed to replace the sick Krash, but he turned out to be an even better player.
  • Took a Level in Badass: At the beginning of the episode, Chiko is very indecisive and has a soft compliant character. By the end of the episode, he is a serious and experienced player who requires the team to play without unnecessary tenderness.
