Dokko is sleeping in his bed when suddenly a meteorite falls into his yard. In the morning, he and Barry examine a strange flower that has grown at the site of the meteorite fall. Barry thinks it's just a nameless weed. Dokko objects; everything in this world has a name and a scientific explanation. He begins to study the mysterious plant, coming to the conclusion that he has discovered a species unknown to science. Meanwhile, Barry drives up to the flower on a tractor and offers to weed it out, but Dokko furiously refuses. The flower grows quickly, and at night, while watching, Dokko discovers that it also glows.

The next day, when Dokko rushes to the flower with a medical kit, Barry suggests to plant some breeding rose-turnips in its place. Dokko does not pay attention, however; he is completely absorbed in research. Next night, the flower begins to glow again, but also emits pleasant music and attracts butterflies that dance around it. Dokko records music on a dictaphone in amazement. He puts his observations on paper, but they are so fantastic and incredible that Dokko just can't believe it to be true. Just the sight of a flower that seems to violate all the scientific laws infuriates him, to the point that he destroys all his records and weeds out the flower with a tractor.

In the morning, Barry finds his friend on a pile of dirt and suggests planting breeding plants in this place so that everything would be according to science. At night, Dokko leaves the house and examines the place where a flower once grew, now full of rose-turnips. He sits down on the grass, turns on a dictaphone with the music recorded off the flower he destroyed, and shines a flashlight into the sky.
