Other dub names: A Hair Scare (4Kids); Who Needs Friends (Studio 100)

Chiko examines himself in the mirror. He sees Krash practising stone skipping, and shares a secret of delicate nature he doesn't want anyone else to know; He thinks that his needles are falling out. Krash examines him but doesn't notice anything and continues stones skipping. Chiko also tries to strike one, but doesn't succeed. He returns home and continues looking in the mirror. Suddenly, he hears Krash talking to Barry about his problem. Barry and Krash enter the house, the former asking Chiko about his needles. An angry Chiko escorts Barry out of the house and ends his friendship with Krash, telling him that he won't be able to trust him because he has a tongue with no bones.

Krash goes home and looks at his tongue in the mirror wondering what Chiko meant, but suddenly falls off the chair and bites it. In the evening, Chiko tries stone skipping. He is approached by Barry, who asked Olga to examine him. She concludes that Chiko is healthy and has nothing to worry about. Chiko launches the stone again, and it repeatedly bounces off the water and returns to the shore. He wants to tell Olga and Barry about it, but they have already left.

At night, Chiko goes to Krash and tells him about his achievement, asking to tell what he was able to do to everyone. Krash explains that he has bitten his tongue and cannot speak well yet. Chiko takes pity and forgives him, both deciding this event will be their secret.

Tropes:

  • Ominous Hair Loss: Chiko spends the entire episode thinking his needles are falling off, and takes this as a very Serious Business.
  • Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: After finding out Krash spilled the beans to Barry, Chiko becomes so upset that he ends their friendship. They do reconcile at the end, though.
  • Tongue Trauma: Krash falls off his chair and bites his tongue, which temporarily prevents him from talking properly.
