Setchan: Previously on… Zenkaiger!
The fortune-loving Magine joined us, making Zenkaiger a team of four!
We've got space for one more!

After he asks too many questions, Ijirude decides to formally expel Vroon from the Tozitend. Meanwhile, people are manically boxing each other as gongs start to mysteriously pop up around the city. Finding out that it was Boxing Wald's doing, the four Zenkaigers take on the monster, crossing paths with none other than Vroon during their fight!

Tropes

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Vroon's utter fascination of the world around him unfortunately makes him incredibly distracted by anything he's interested in. The team understandably get annoyed by this and have to rein him in to get some answers.
  • Broken Pedestal: Vroon's respect towards Ijirude as a sage who would teach him all he wants to know is completely shattered after learning what happens to the worlds that are sealed in his Tojiru Gears.
  • The Cameo: Julie Nagano, the star of director Ryuta Tasaki’s indie film Salvage Mice, appears as the bride affected by Boxing Wald’s powers.
  • Chekhov's Gag: Earlier on when Kaito asks what Vroon's name is, the latter hesitates before answering, likely due to how the Tozitend had always referred to him as "cleaner bot" instead. When he quits the Tozitend, he finally corrects Ijirude about his name for what is possibly the first time - empowered by Kaito's kindness towards him.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends in a minor one, where the newly-joined Vroon mentions having heard of the Goshikida professors visiting Ijirude's lab.
  • The Day the Music Lied: Ominous music plays in the background when the Zenkaigers confront Boxing Wald... only for it to abruptly cut out when Vroon comes by the scene, chased by the Kudacks. It takes the music a minute to start back up again after both parties recall what they're doing.
  • Groin Attack: Kaito decides to do this to Boxing Wald using Ryu Ranger's Dairen Rod.
  • Hate Plague: Boxing Wald's gongs causes people to fight each other nonstop until the other takes them out. He eventually turns this onto Vroon as a way to execute him.
  • Have You Told Anyone Else?: Ijirude says this verbatim to Vroon about Kinokotopia and Kooritopia being freed, which leads to...
  • He Knows Too Much: ...Ijirude deciding to have Vroon targeted for execution, in order to keep the truth about the parallel worlds being released a secret from the rest of the Tozitend.
  • Mr. Exposition: Vroon serves as this when the team finally get him to start talking about the Tojiru Gears and the Tozitend.
    • The Tojiru Gears were created as a way to trap parallel worlds without resorting to military excursion. With this technology, Boccowaus set out to conquer every parallel world in his grasp.
    • Apparently when trying to take over this world, something malfunctioned and caused Kikaitopia to merge with this world. As such, this is what led to the Tozitend to try direct military excursion.
    • Once the Tojiru Gear the world is trapped in is destroyed, the world is set free.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Boxing Wald's method of brainwashing is similar to Karateloid's method of brainwashing the victim of the week: through hand guards (in this case, boxing gloves).
    • Kaito uses Daigo's Groin Attack on Boxing Wald when the team uses the Dairen Rods.
  • Running Gag: Averted. Rather than immediately shoot a mook like Juran and Gaon or accidentally shoot himself like Magine, Vroon just simply asks how to use the Geartlinger. This is justified due to his Constantly Curious nature.
  • Say My Name: Vroon says this to Ijirude as he's formally joining the Zenkaigers.
Vroon: (to Ijirude) There's something I want to teach you before I leave... my name is Vroon!
  • Shout-Out: Since it wouldn't be a Japanese Boxing Episode without a Tomorrow's Joe reference, Boxing Wald's last words are a quote from it.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: Fed up with Ijirude's treatment of him, Vroon leaves and ultimately joins the Zenkaigers.
  • Wham Line: Near the end of the episode, when Vroon reveals that he's heard the Goshikidas' names before.
Vroon: I seem to remember people with those names (Isao and Mitsuko) having been at Ijirude's lab before...
