Go To

Airdate: March 10th, 2023

"Thirst to be the First": Kiff is ready to be the first person to use the school's new water fountain, but a bad case of "droop-tail" ends up ruining her plans.

"The Fourth Bath": Kiff is excited to sleep over at Barry's house, until she finds out that the Buns share bath water, and that she will take the fourth bath.

"Thirst to be the First" contains examples of:

  • Bittersweet Ending: Kiff proves that her droop-trail was actually dehydration and is allowed to go to school by her father. Unfortunately, by that point the sun has started to go down and the water fountain drinking ceremony has long ended, meaning that Kiff missed her chance to be the first to drink from it. Thankfully, Barry reveals that he made a fake Kiff to take her place so that she could still have the title in spirit.
  • "I Want" Song: Kiff sings "Thirst to Be the First" as she vows to be the first one to drink from the new water fountain, among other things she wants to be first at.
  • Sick Episode: Kiff comes down with a case of droop-tail and must skip school. This is later Subverted, as it turns out that she was not sick and simply dehydrated all along from saving her thirst for the water fountain.

"The Fourth Bath" contains examples of:

  • Awkward First Sleepover: It's Kiff's first time sleeping over at Barry's house.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Kiff does not get the first bath and ends up being demoted to the last bath, but she still has a good time in the bath anyways.
  • Chain of Deals: Kiff must make a deal with all the Buns siblings in birth order to get to the first bath.
    • Barry’s third bath proves simplest to get when he’s shown to be a poor negotiator, and Kiff just lets him have her open the window as payment.
    • Terri allows Kiff to have the second bath in exchange for helping her with an… interesting video wherein Kiff is told to hold two bowls full of ice cream while Terri tickles her with a feather and is ordered not to drop them.
    • The biggest challenge is Harry, who has become too enveloped in teen angst to want anything Kiff has to offer him ever since he had to "hand-me-doon" his beloved childhood toy. It takes Kiff getting the toy back from Kristoff to get him to relinquish his first bath.
    • Though Kiff initially ignores Kristoff because his bath is under hers, she later has to trade him a piece of candy...'s wrapper in exchange for the toy he was cuddling with all episode to get Harry's first bath.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Buns family is eating potatoes for dinner. Barry later uses these potatoes, which represent him and his siblings, to explain the bath system in his house to Kiff.
  • Delayed Reaction: When Kiff finds out about the unique bath system the Buns family has.
Barry: Anything can be handed down: sneakers, mattresses...
    Harry: Toys, eyeliner...
    Terri: Cellphones, bath water.
Kiff: I am reeling! Hand-me-doons, I am so excited to—wait, did you just say "bath water"?
  • Malaproper: Hand-me-doons as opposed to hand-me downs, courtesy of Kiff.
  • Odd Name Out: Mary, Harry, Terri, Barry, and Kristoff.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The transition cards have shots of a digital clock counting down to the first bath, reminiscent of 24.
    • Harry's room has posters for "Bliss Division" and "The Gothman Prophecies''.
    • When Kristoff realizes that his favorite toy has secretly been replaced, the Kill Bill theme starts playing before he attacks Harry.
