Kel thinks Kenan's dad is a diamond robber after seeing a picture of a man that looks like him on TV. To make things worse, Mr. Rockmore is looking for a diamond for his twentieth wedding anniversary.
- Contrived Coincidence: Kenan and Kel suspect Roger to be the Diamond Bandit at the same day he's buying diamond jewelry for Sheryl as an anniversary gift. Also Kenan and Kel try to return the diamonds to the jewelry store at the same night the Diamond Bandit is robbing it.
- Didn't Think This Through: Kel instinctively closes the safe door, without looking if the safe had a handle to open it from the inside. Then when giving testimony to the cops, Kel explains he closed the safe which locked them in, and showed them while they were all inside.
- Enraged by Idiocy: The Diamond Bandit clearly is not happy when Kenan and Kel accidentally trap him in the jewelry store's safe while he was robbing it, especially when they hear the police arriving. They're extremely lucky he didn't hold them hostage.
- Identical Stranger: The Diamond Bandit looks like Roger.
- Locked in a Room: While infiltrating in the jewelry store, Kenan and Kel notice the safe's door open and enter to check it out, but end trapped inside when Kel closes the door, and even worse with the real Diamond Bandit inside as well.
- Reasonable Authority Figure:
- Kenan and Kel go to the police station and ask a cop what would happen if the Diamond Bandit turned himself in, and the cop replies that he would likely spend the rest of his life rotting in prison. But also tells the boys that if the Bandit returned the stolen diamonds, it's possible the cops wouldn't be so hard on him.
- The owner of the jewelry story too. When Roger isn't sure if he can afford the diamond bracelet, he lets Roger borrow it to think it over since he considers Roger a long time friend. He also doesn't press charges against Kenan and Kel for breaking into his jewelry store both as a favor to Roger since Kenan's his son and their break in saved his store from being robbed. He still makes them pay him to fix the hole in the ceiling nonetheless.
- Safecracking: That's how the police officers get Kenan, Kel and the Diamond Bandit out of the safe.
- Sneaking Out at Night: Kenan and Kel sneak into a jewelry store at night to "return" the diamonds Roger supposedly stole.
- Through the Ceiling, Stealthily: Averted with Kel, as he sneaks into the jewelry store with a snorkel and swimming fins on, which makes him to fall into the floor while leaving a big hole at the ceiling.
