"What are your thoughts on the DGP?"
Ace: The Desire Grand Prix being a reality TV show was something I expected.
However... this new rule they added, that there's a traitor among us — the Desastar — might pose a problem.
"Any words for the audience behind the camera?"
Ace: Now, esteemed members of the audience...
...Can you tell who the Desastar is...?

With the announcement that there is a traitor among them, tensions among the Riders are mounting. Meanwhile, Round 2 of the new Desire Grand Prix begins: a game of "Jyamar Ball", where the Riders and the Jyamato compete for the ball and put it in the opponent's goal to score points.

Ace and the other Riders form a team and fight together, but the game turns into a close battle. In the midst of such a skirmish, Keiwa begins to act strangely around the Jyamato, which causes suspicion that he is the Desastar to fall on him. Can he free himself from this predicament...?

Tropes

  • Cassandra Truth: Keiwa tries telling everyone that the Jyamato are fallen players, but the circumstances prevent them from believing him, especially since the evidence does suggest he's the likely Desastar.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends in the middle of the final round, with more than half of the Players' votes pinning Keiwa as the likely Desastar.
  • Confession Cam: The DGP now feature these.
  • Discard and Draw: Due to being suspected to be the Desastar, the Riders take away the Ninja Buckle from Keiwa. Despite this, he clears a secret mission shortly after that gives him the Command Twin Buckle.
  • The Faceless: When Ziin brings up Ace's supposed family photo on his tablet, his parents' faces are obscured by a screen glare, hinting at an ambiguous accuracy of this information.
  • Frame-Up: Keiwa is subjected to a minor one by Daichi — after confessing to him his beliefs that the Jyamato are fallen players, Daichi tells him to keep this information secret in order to not sabotage team morale. Later, when Daichi accuses Keiwa of being the Desastar in front of everyone else, he feigns not having the ealier conversation, while Keiwa's retelling of his reasons now comes across more as an excuse to avert suspicion for his actions, due to having kept it secret under Daichi's advice.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Ziin's tablet reveals Ace's father is named Issei, and that Ace was a student of Minami Shiraita Elementary School until 2008.
  • Indy Ploy: Michinaga force-uses a defeated Jyamato Rider's Jyamato Buckle. While it works to eliminate a whole horde of other Jyamato Riders going after him, he momentarily goes berserk before collapsing from the strain shortly after use.
  • Laxative Prank: Sae suspects Keiwa for pulling this when he cooked the Riders breakfast, which Ace points out is a possibility for someone selected as the Desastar.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Despite being handicapped due to his ID Core being damaged and having no Raise Buckles on hand, Michinaga takes out a Jyamato Rider in this fashion.
  • Not Helping Your Case: Keiwa's behavior becomes increasingly irrational as the episode progresses despite his critical knowledge of the Jyamato's true nature, to the point where Daichi pretends to not know about his conversation with him to get Keiwa voted out faster. It eventually culminates in Keiwa cutting Daichi with the Raising Sword, an extremely dangerous maneuver as it cancels Daichi's transformation in the middle of the Jyamar Area with zero effort and allows the Jyamato side to make a goal.
  • Poor Communication Kills: As Keiwa believes that the Jyamato are fallen players, he is unable to bring himself to fight them. This reluctance causes the other Riders to suspect that he's the Desastar.
  • The Reveal: Ziin uncovers something that casts even more doubt on Ace's claim of Mitsume being his mother.
  • Shout-Out: The interview scene with Ace is taken from a page out of Formula 1: Drive to Survive.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Archimedel's use of the ID Cores will likely have you forget that they're also plain-old CPU chips inside. This prevents Michinaga's Desire Driver from functioning properly, as its electronics are essentially short-circuited.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Kekera decides to help out Keiwa after he loses the Ninja Buckle by giving him a secret mission to clear, allowing him to get the Command Twin Buckle.
  • Wham Shot:
    • Ziin's tablet shows a photo of a young Ace dating to the mid-2000s, which calls Ace's claim that he's been around since 1 A.D. into question.
    • As Michinaga leaves the Jyamar Garden, he discovers that he's no longer on Earth and instead in a Helheim-like place.
  • Wrecked Weapon: Michinaga forces a transformation with his wrecked ID Core, but given the circumstances, it's very unstable.
