Recap / Kaeloo S 3 E 9 Lets Play Stumpys Trial

Go To

After seeing the way Stumpy treats inanimate objects, Kaeloo takes him to court.

"Let's Play Stumpy's Trial" contains the following tropes:

  • Agitated Item Stomping: Stumpy loses a video game. He throws his console on the floor and stomps on it as though it was the console's fault he lost.
  • Brick Joke: At the beginning of the episode, Stumpy threatens to sell the objects on the internet. When it looks like he's going to lose, he starts screaming about how he won't really sell them.
  • Courtroom Episode
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Kaeloo convinces the jury that objects have souls and therefore Stumpy should be punished. Mr. Cat, Stumpy's lawyer in this episode, decides to use this to his advantage. He decides to call a tub of yogurt, which is Quack Quack's Trademark Favorite Food, as a witness, pointing out that if objects have souls, the yogurt counts as a witness. Quack Quack devours the "witness" almost instantly and is taken to jail by Mr. Cat, who is also a police officer. Kaeloo steps out of the courtroom to talk to some reporters about the incident, and since everyone is gone, Stumpy takes the judge's place and declares himself "not guilty", which apparently works in Smileyland's judicial system.
  • Judicial Wig: Parodied. Quack Quack's wig is made out of toilet paper rolls.
