After the yacht is destroyed and the camp family wash up on another island, they exit a nearby cave only to discover a barren desert. However, they are given a ray of hope as Ben spots something shiny in the distance, however it soon becomes clear he is going through a personal crisis.

  • Canon Foreigner: The episode introduces the first cloned prehistoric mammal, a Saber-Toothed Tiger.
  • Crossing the Desert: The episode follows the kids as they cross a desert after spotting light reflecting off something metallic in the distance.
  • Deadly Dust Storm: A bad sandstorm hits the campers, blinding them and temporarily separating Brooklynn and Kenji from the others.
  • Island of Mystery: Having washed up on an unknown island, the teens quickly release that it contains a lot of mysteries.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: The Smilodon decides to call off the hunt and leave when it becomes clear the campers aren't going down quietly, and they start pitching rocks at it (Including dropping a very BIG one that nearly flattens it).
  • Love Makes You Dumb: As he begins developing feelings for Brooklynn, Kenji starts spacing out and acting distracted.
  • Meaningful Echo: "At Least" starts out as a game by the Camp Fam, where they try to look on the bright side of things, only to quickly wear out its welcome when things look bleaker and bleaker. But it regains its original meaning when they decide that "at least [they] still have each other".
  • Not So Remote: At the very end of the episode, the teens are shocked to discover that part of the desert is actually an invisible wall, with a door to an enclosed manmade area hidden within it...
  • Panthera Awesome: A Saber-Toothed Tiger is the threat of the episode.
  • Rousing Speech: Ben gives one at the beginning when the campers aren't sure what to do, pointing out that after surviving Nublar, this new island shouldn't be much of a challenge...
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Just because Ben became a survivalist in a jungle terrain, does not equate him into being a master of all different terrain, the desert proves itself to be a different sort of beast than the one he is used to.
  • Title Drop: The title is a reference to the group's little game where they try to stay optimistic by name that "at least X isn't happening".
