The kids decide that they are done running and are going to fight back, and with the help of a familiar face, they might just stand a chance at bringing an end to the Scorpius Rex’s rampage and saving the island.
- Androcles' Lion: Blue remembers Darius, Yaz, and Kenji saving her, and ignores them in favor of attacking the Scorpios rex… AFTER Darius decides not to pick up the dropped tranq dart gun, as per her very aggressive insistence.
- Big Bad Ensemble: The two Scorpios rexes don’t really work as a Big Bad Duumvirate because they despise each other, and attack one another on sight. Doesn’t quite work as Evil vs. Evil or A Lighter Shade of Black either, since neither is really less dangerous or likeable. Not only that, but both turn out to be the Disc-One Final Boss of the season when Dr. Wu and the mercenaries show up.
- Call-Back: The campers hide from a Scorpios rex in the kitchen of the Jurassic Park visitor center, and several shots mirror those of the "Raptors in the kitchen" scene of the first movie. However, the Scorpios is nowhere near as patient or stealthy as the Velociraptors, and tears the place apart looking for them.
- Cliffhanger: The campers have left Isla Nublar at long last, they're heading east in the repaired boat, they may reach Costa Rica by dawn… and then three black helicopters swoop out of nowhere, ordering them to turn back to the docks.
- David vs. Goliath: Blue the Velociraptor is the David to the Scorpios rex Goliaths.
- Death from Above: The Scorpios rexes are both finally slain when the roof of the old Jurassic Park visitor center caves in on top of them.
- *Drool* Hello: The Scorpios pulls this on Darius from within a tree.
- Gentle Giant Sauropod: Kenji, Sammy, Yaz, and Brooklynn come across a baby Brachiosaurus separated from its herd. They end up doing their best impressions of the animal’s calls until an adult comes to retrieve it.
- I Choose to Stay: Subverted. Ben initially still wants to stay alone on Isla Nublar… then changes his mind as the yacht motors away, and leaps into the ocean to swim after it.
- Missed Him by That Much: Twice, in rapid succession. Darius and Ben missed the boat, because the Scorpios rex got to the docks first and Kenji drove out to sea to avoid it, circling back around later once it left. Unfortunately, Darius and Ben also fled the Scorpios by the docks after they showed up, heading into the jungle, so when the yacht returns, Darius and Ben are already gone.
- Truly Single Parent: Darius hypothesizes that the second Scorpios was born from the first via asexual reproduction. Two episodes later, Dr. Wu will claim that he only created one of them, basically cementing this theory as fact.
- Wall Crawl: One of the Scorpios climbs up the wall of the visitor center to attack the other.
