Darius and Kenji make an incredible discovery while looking into why the river has suddenly run dry, meanwhile the girls investigate air vents scattered across the island that leads them to uncovering secrets of Dr. Wu.

  • Cassandra Truth: Brooklynn is the only one to hear an odd, distant humming noise, and was the only one to see the frozen patch of flowers from the end of the last episode. She never found them again, and nobody really believes her about either of them at the beginning of the episode.
  • Commonality Connection: All three girls bond over a shared love of a TV show called Esther Stone. Later, Kenji also turns out to be a fan.
  • Genius Bonus: While searching Dr. Wu's lab, the girls find an envelope labeled "E750" and find a plastic key card inside, along with several pages of seemingly-random letters. Viewers may recognize it as genetic code, a hint to the true nature of E750.
  • Herbivores Are Friendly: This gets reversed with Predators Are Mean, Darius and Kenji are chased by a pair of territorial stegosaurus but also encounter a carnivorous Ceratosaur that has no interest in attacking them and simply walks away after a brief standoff.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Kenji found a recording of Dave making a hilariously terrible demo tape.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: At the beginning, the boys and girls split up to solve two mysteries. The girls follow Brooklynn trying to find the source of the strange hum, while the boys go upstream to see what happened to the river.
  • No Can Opener: Sammy tries getting into some of the canned food they found in a veterinary outpost in the last episode... with an ice cream scoop. It doesn't go well.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: Darius and Kenji encounter a Ceratosaurus, after a brief standoff the pair are surprised when the carnivore shows no interest in them and walks away.
  • Treehouse of Fun: The campers have constructed a much more low-tech treehouse out of the ruins of Camp Cretaceous, high enough off the ground to avoid most of the dinosaurs.
  • Truce Zone: The watering hole itself seems to act as one between predators and prey; Kenji and Darius walk right up next to a Ceratosaurus without being attacked.
