Recap / Julie And The Phantoms S 1 E 4 I Got The Music

Go To

Julie and the Sunset Curve plan for their first scheduled performance at Los Feliz High School. However, the boys are distracted upon learning that the only survivor of the band, Bobby, took credit of all of their songs after his bandmates' deaths, and is currently living as a rich musician named Trevor Wilson. He also happens to be the father of Carrie, Julie's archnemesis. While Julie tries to get them to focus, they want to take revenge against Bobby. Luke, Alex, and Reggie end up visiting the Hollywood Ghost Club, whose owner, Caleb, Willie claims to be able to help them.

Tropes

  • Big Fancy House: The Wilsons live in a huge mansion that has a helipad on it.
  • Foreshadowing: When Julie is showing Flynn the songs she and Luke worked on over the weekend she plays snippets of "Edge of Great" and "Stand Tall" which will appear later in the series.
  • Mooning: Luke, Alex, and Reggie, after they successfully drive Bobby away.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite being enemies, Carrie still allows Julie and Flynn to enter her house, though she sneers at them.
  • Stage Name: Bobby's stage name is Trevor Wilson.
  • Stealing the Credit: Bobby took ownership of the Sunset Curve's songs, which wouldn't have been so bad had he not taken sole credit for all of them. As Reggie puts it, Luke introduced Julie to rock, not Bobby.
  • Vengeful Ghost: Downplayed. Luke, Alex, and Reggie take revenge against Bobby for stealing their songs' credit, though theirs is more on the silly side than anything malicious.
