Susan and Mary invent a smart house program that will cater to the family's needs. But of course it doesn't take long for the AI to start taking things to logical extremes and starts trying to kick the family out of their own home.
Tropes
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The smart house starts working as intended, but soon gets a bit too logical like Dukey having too much fur and Susan and Mary using too much power that it ultimately tries to kick the family out of the house.
- Chekhov's Gun: The gum or "ion binder" that Johnny finds in his attempt to do a world record for the biggest bubble. It prevents him from being thrown out of the house (allowing Dukey, Susan and Mary to get back in) and used to get back to the lab and unplug the smart house.
- No Challenge Equals No Satisfaction: This is how Hugh feels when Susan and Mary show him the Smart House program which has pretty much taken over cleaning duties for the household. Since Hugh is a stay at home father, cleaning is what he loves, so isn't happy he'll have nothing to do otherwise.
- Vicious Vac: One of the first inventions of the smart house revealed is a vacuum. Dukey naturally isn't a fan of it and it's the last line of defense between Johnny and the plug.
- Wall Crawl: In order to get up to the upstairs lab, Johnny puts some gum on his hands and shoes and has his sisters and Dukey throw him to the ceiling where he sticks to it and crawls to the second floor.
