Spell Book
- Bait-and-Switch: The kids see a creepy looking run-down shack that they think is Winnie's house. That house actually belongs to Wally. Winnie lives right next door in a normal looking house.
- Balloon Belly: Augie, Yakky, and Shag all get big bellies after eating all the candy.
- Bewitched Amphibians: Winnie turns Mildew into a frog apropos of nothing.
- The Cameo: Snooper and Blabber make a cameo during the Insert Song, singing about how caramel makes their teeth sticky. Also, Snooper is a girl now.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Winnie turns Peter into a pumpkin and Mildew into a frog just because they annoyed her.
- Halloween Episode: We get to see what the Jellystone citizens do during Halloween.
- Hot as Hell: Huckleberry Hound of all people invokes this trope with his devil costume. He shakes his butt at the viewer while Mr. Jinks (dressed as an angel) sings "Acting nice and looking naughty".
- Insert Song: "A Perfect Jellystone Halloween" is sung by all the characters at the beginning of the episode.
- Laser-Guided Karma: The kids mess with Winsome Witch's spell book when she specifically told them not to. As punishment, they have to eat all the candy they made, long after they had grown tired of it. In fact, they only helped Winnie with the Halloween preparations just so they could get candy.
- Lonely Among People: Wally Gator admits that he's lonely in the populous town of Jellystone.
- Spell Book: It's even the title of the episode. Winnie warns the kids not to touch her magic spell book, but they do so anyways.
- Whole Costume Reference:
- Peter Potamus dresses up as Natsu Dragneel, while So-So dresses up as Happy.
- Jabberjaw dresses up as Ariel.
- Whole-Plot Reference: One to Strega Nona. Augie, Yakky and Shag wanted to help Winnie with Halloween, but they made too much candy from the forbidden spell book and have to eat it all as punishment. Just like how Big Anthony wanted to help Strega Nona, but he made too spaghetti and had to eat it all as punishment.
