A very rare white dodo comes to visit Jammbo, and the kids are delighted, particularly Ongo who forms a special bond with him. But what happens when the white dodo has to leave?
Tropes:
- Bittersweet Ending: The White Dodo leaves Jammbo to continue his mission of bringing music across the universe, but he leaves behind a special songbook to remember him by, and since he could hear music from any part of the universe, the kids play a special song for him, as a means of communication.
- Dark Reprise: The background music during the scene where the other kids console Ongo after the White Dodo departs is a sad version of the music he collaborates with Ongo on.
- A Day in the Limelight: This is the only episode in the series to focus primarily on Ongo, who normally only plays a supporting role at most.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?:
- The way the kids talk to Ongo about the white dodo "coming back" and assuring him that he'll come visit someday can be seen as a metaphor for a close friend moving far away.
- Bello's line "it's as if he disappeared" and the Queen giving them a special gift from the White Dodo come across as a metaphor for a close friend/family member dying.
- Wham Shot: The White Dodo about to leave Jammbo.
