An earthquake causes the Demon Chi Containment Unit to break, freeing the gathered chi. While most of it is quickly recaptured, the Earth Demon chi escapes Section 13 and ends up in Martin Tubbs, of all people.
- Adapted Out: Larry, Jade's friend who ended up with the Earth Demon chi in canon, is excised from the story in favor of Martin.
Word of God is that this is because Larry was a character of the week who never showed up again, while Martin is an established recurring character. - Ascended Extra: With this chapter, Martin goes from supporting character to part of the main group.
