In order to clear the air, Colleen and Danny host a dinner for Davos and Joy.
- Appeal to Force: Invoked by Sherry, who asks the Iron Fist to be present during negotiations because his reputation will deter violence. Unfortunately this doesn't work.
- Brutal Honesty: After a whole lot of false friendliness during the double date, Colleen explodes and bluntly tells everybody to talk it out already. Sadly, it doesn't work.
- Call-Back:
- When they're about to enter the meeting, a Golden Tiger asks Yang for her weapons, and she responds (while pointing to Danny) "He is the weapon", which calls back to Danny's Badass Boast to Scythe during his duel with Madame Gao's fighters.
- Danny recalls how Matt Murdock asked him to protect his city before his supposed death in The Defenders.
- Character Development: 2 steps forward, 1 step back for Ward. He's an asshole at his NA meeting, but he's chummy with Danny afterward, able to suggest positive steps to approaching their developing problems with Davos and Joy.
- Chekhov's Gunman: After Danny destroys the table, there's a close up of a Golden Tiger member clutching his chest in pain while staring at Danny. This is presumably Donnie Cheng, the undercover cop Misty refers to in the next episode.
- Cliffhanger: The Triad parley has ended in violence, while Mary/Walker is holding Davos at bladepoint.
- Fake Relationship: When Danny and Colleen ask how Joy and Davos know each other, Joy tells them that they are in a relationship and met each other in Paris.
- Flipping the Bird: Ward at the support group meeting, with both hands while saying that everyone present is an asshole, before leaving because he is angry that Joy somehow found out that he is going to the meetings and assumes one of them was bribed to do so.
- Flipping the Table: Weaponised when Danny uses the Iron Fist to knock the table into the mooks who are about to attack him.
- Hope Spot:
- For a moment it looks like Colleen will force Davos and Joy to address their issues with Danny, but Davos cuts the dinner short after discovering Mary's photos and gets Joy to leave with him.
- The parley is proceeding regardless of what happened to Hai-Qing Yang, with his wife pretending he had to return to China for family business and conducting the negotiations on his behalf. But when Danny sees people lurking outside the warehouse where the parley is taking place, he accuses the Golden Tigers of planning a trap and things quickly break down into violence.
- Eye Scream: Just as Chen Wu is prepared to stab Colleen, Sherry subdues him by stabbing him in the left eye with a pin. When we see him two episodes from now, he's got a bandage over his eye.
- Lying to Protect Your Feelings: Danny tells Joy that he and Ward kept the truth about Harold from her to protect her. She doesn't take this well, responding that she can protect herself.
- Nerves of Steel: Davos doesn't flinch even when Walker is holding twin machetes to his throat.
- Oh, Crap!: Davos cuts short the dinner on discovering the surveillance photos Mary gave to Danny. Joy has a similar reaction when Mary/Walker puts her machetes to Davos' throat.
- Passive Aggressive Combat: Davos, Joy, Colleen and Danny appear to be friendly to each other at first, but it is clear that there are many grievances under the surface. After a while, Colleen has had enough of it.
- Staff of Authority: Sherry carries the Dragon Head Baton, the symbol of authority over the Yangshi-Gonshi, to show her husband has authorized her to conduct negotiations on his behalf.
- Table Space: At the meeting, Sherry and Chen Wu sit at a long table, each at one of the ends.
- Villain Over for Dinner: At Ward's behest, Danny has Joy and Davos over his and Colleen's home for dinner.
- Wham Shot: Not only is "Walker" revealed to be Mary, but she can absolutely handle herself, as evidenced by getting the drop on Davos.
