After surviving a savage beating from Dudley, Dudley's friends, and a stranger, Harry Potter ends up tumbling through a portal and lands, badly injured, in Equestria.
Tropes that stumbled into Equestria include:
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The rather graphic, savage beating Harry gets at the start of the chapter (leading to extensive injuries) is the darkest moment of the fic.
- Extradimensional Emergency Exit: Harry's life was saved when he fell through the portal to Equestria. His internal narrative makes it clear that the Dursleys likely would have been happy letting him die.
- Face Death with Dignity: Harry seems to realize how severe his injuries are, but he doesn't seem too upset.
- Fisher Kingdom: Though he doesn't realize it right away, Harry turned into a unicorn the second he entered Equestria.
- Good Samaritan: The CMC save Harry's life by getting him to the hospital in time.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: What Dudley and his friends (and the stranger) do to Harry.
- Shout-Out: Harry briefly wonders why he hears horses in the hospital.
- Spoiled Brat: Dudley. He gets everything he asks for, yet still thought it was necessary to steal a candy bar, then beat up Harry so he wouldn't snitch.
- Trapped in Another World: Until further notice, Harry's in Equestria with no way back to Earth.
